Hi Janice ~ I have found over the years personal mantras of mine have really helped me remain calm and focused. How do you feel about mantras? I've also been known to keep different little symbols -- angel, cross, turtle, heart, etc. -- to direct my thinking. I think my pillows actually are an addition to those two practices...
Hi Jan, I think mantras are essential, and yes, on the symbols - I wear a particular necklace constantly. I had to get a new chain recently and carried the charm in my pocket til the new one came. Also, feathers seem to be a guide for me. I totally agree with you about the pillows.
Well, Jan, I will leave the decision up to you. Looks like you have done a fabulous job so far. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us. You have a real talent for decorating. I also am a member of the “Too Many Throw Pillows” club. Love them! I especially like the fact that yours hold so many memories. I, like Cathey, feel they give a cozy and comfortable feel to a space. Happy decorating!
Wow, Jan - I love your throw pillows and the memories that are attached to them. I may have a few too many as well. My poor guests have to slog through all the ones on the guest bed to actually find a bed pillow to put their head on. I don't know why I like them so much. I think it's because they feel cozy and inviting. I'm glad to know it's not just me..... And YES - a few throw pillows on that guest bed! P.S. My husband does not enjoy throw pillows. 😅
Yep, Stoney's with Keith. I have to minimize the throw pillows in our bedroom. Ha Ha! He definitely doesn't understand the ones I have outside by the pool. Grumbles every spring when we get pool furniture out of storage, and he has to pull down 2 bags of throw pillows.
Should you get throw pillows for the bedroom? Just try and stop yourself! Of course, you will, stop fighting it, or get into a 12 Step Program for Pillows Anonymous. (And never, ever, let yourself go to Walmart?) Life's too short for such depravations! Go on, live a little!
First, love all your interesting, meaningful pillows around the house! I remember my sister going into my living room and commenting, “ How can anyone sit on that couch with all the pillows there?” I feel that way sometimes when I have to find a place for all the throw pillows before I can get in bed. Definitely called throws for a reason! 🥰
So much fun reading your articles, they bring so many insights!
Catching up with my emails in a quiet moment. This one had me laughing just from the title😂. The throw pillow from Greece reminds me of visiting Madeira, saw some very similar when we were exploring! Thank you for that, hugs.
Absolutely - your pillows have messages for you.

Thanks, Kathleen ~ you can bet if I find some cheap ones in the WalMart bin, they'll be on the bed soon. xoxo

Thanks, Rose ~ I may have to check into that 12-Step Program. xoxo
