I loved reading this ! Jan just keep doing what you love the most. As I always say age is only a number. You are as old as you feel like. I remember when I was in my early twenties I used to call the people in their 50’s older people, when I turned 50 last year I realised how stupid it was of me to even say that as I still feel now like I felt when I was twenty , I don’t feel old in anyway. We really say some dumb things when we are young !😁🤣

You are definitely right about attitude, Irene. But, I can tell you that at 76 you can’t leap into the air when your Crock sandals are stuck in the sand -- no matter how much you believe! Ha ha ha! Xoxo

I feel the same way Jan. I am not listening to the Universe. I fell off a curb the day before I was to go on vacation last October. I fell and didn’t know how to get up. A man was driving into the parking lot and he assisted me along with a woman who was 100 pounds lighter than me and they helped me up. They walked me to a bench and the woman got me a bring of water. OMG did I feel OLD. I profusely thanked them and went to get my haircut because I couldn’t go on vacation looking like a wild woman. These past years I have slowed down. But when Graham and Kerry were in Ontario at the CanAm show I said “The hell with it, I’m going”. It was a long drive and I had company with another THC member and we talked and laughed and was in our glory when we saw GW and KJ. It sparked a fire in me to keep going. My mom always said (and I think I mentioned this before) Go while your feet can take you. I’m still going…slower…but will all the enthusiasm and adventure I can muster up!☀️

Hi Elaine ~ good for you! You must really like Graham & Kerry. They ARE two cuties. I'm still able to jump up & act like I did it on purpose. ha ha! I'm going to Greece for 2 weeks in September. So excited! My hubby doesn't want to go, but I have girlfriends I travel with -- got to do it while we can, right!?!? Let's keep mustering up as much as we can... xoxo

I get it Jan, I sometimes feel like I’m 30 and other times I feel 80. I keep saying to myself that I have to keep moving. I turned 57 this February and it is true what they say you’re as old as you think you are. Eel here’s to thinking young but still watching each step.

Hi Shari ~ I"m still young at heart, but I'm thinking of buying shares in Extra-Strength Motrin. Ha! xoxo

Jan, such a delightful read! The. Universe has been telling me to slow down this past year, last June my sciatic nerve and back made it very hard to walk for a good month..found out a couple of discs were the issue, nerve was pinched. October I took a fall when my knee decided it didn’t want to work right...dislocated shoulder on the “trip”.. my son said “tuck and roll”....right. This getting older isn’t so fun, but I’m still going to keep moving....just avoid certain moves! Have a good day!

OMG, Linda ~ there's nothing worse than sciatic nerve pain. Let's all pledge to keep moving. And I'm going to remember your son's advice: "tuck & roll." Ha! xoxo

Oh yes! In the past 3 months I have fallen several times for no apparent reason! Just PLOP!! What was that all about?!? Scrapes and bruises prevail but mostly injured pride!( I guess I, too, need to slow down).

Oh yes, Karen ~ I'm watching my steps more carefully now. I don't really want a broken hip that WILL slow me down. You're right about the injured pride. I jumped up & hurried off the beach as fast as I could. ha ha! Take care! xoxo

Thanks, Jan, for the reinforcement and most definitely the understanding! Have a wonderful day but at a little bit slower pace.💕

Nothing!!!! My cousin was a cheerleader in High School. She's 57 now. Yesterday was her birthday and she set out to show her boys that she could still do a round-off (sp?)

Anyway she put her arms on the ground to do the legs over the head? And her arms gave out and she did a faceplate into the ground instead. Her boys just bellowed laughing then ran to see if she was alright!

OMG, Marsha ~ You've got me laughing now. Your poor cousin! Hope springs eternal, I guess! Thanks!!!

Hi Jan. The Universe has been sending that message for awhile - which I have been choosing to ignore. It sent me a cold the other day - the first one in 20 years. Maybe I need to listen - thanks for the reminder.

Hi Janice ~ I think we got this far in life happy & healthy because we didn't listen, but I'm thinking being a bit more careful may be a smart move now. Hope you get over your cold really quickly!!! {{Hugs}}

You are so right, Irene! My mom reminded me that when I said something that was kind of stupid that I would “ eat my words” some day. Boy, have I ? More than I truly care to admit! I bet she is having a good chuckle in heaven on a daily basis!

Thank you for this post. The video spoke to me. When I go to the Jersey Shore in the summer, I love to swim in the ocean. I am an excellent swimmer ,so I will stay in the water forever, but unfortunately I have a drop foot and neuropathy in my legs so getting out of the waves is impossible. Before I go into the water, I ask the lifeguards to watch out for me. As I am rolling in the waves on the beach, they come to get me out. I have learned not to be embarrassed because I love swimming so much!

Hi Juliann ~ yes, learning to adapt is the key to growing older happily, I think -- with a bit of laughter on the side. Somehow my soul is drawn to water. I'm not an excellent swimmer, but I'm great at floating around for hours. Ha! Glad the video spoke to you. Love having you here. xoxo

Oh my Jan, I'm so sorry, but I totally LOL when I watched the video!! Yet, look at you having a blast and making memories with Mindy and Kim!! "Slow down" enters more and more of my days, but really trying to ignore it!! As always...enjoyed your post, XO

It was funny! I laughed too after I picked myself up & was sure I didn't break anything. Don't want to end up in traction or a cast this summer -- or ever. Can you believe we're about to celebrate Mrs. Leeth's 95th birthday? She' s still living life to the fullest even after breaking 2 hips I believe. Gives me hope. xoxo

I loved your post, it made me laugh, like you I am one of those who goes at a thousand per hour, but I have to admit that lately I feel more tired, even my feet hurt after my daily walks, maybe I have to slow down the pace. Hugs 🤗

Do we have to slow down, you asked. Never Jan, don’t ever stop moving. I don’t plan on slowing down! I still do “almost” as much as I did 25-30 years ago, just with a lot less grace!

Thank you for the video, it gave me a good laugh and reminded me of my recent attempt at body surfing. The body surfing was great, it was trying to get back on two feet in shore that posed the problem. After plenty of laughter (and being laughed at) and rolling in the shallow waters being hit by waves, I got up and went again.

Ah, ha, Chrissy ~ I think you've found the secret. Loved your body surfing story. I, too, do as much or more than I did during my younger professional life, just at a slower speed. Ha! I was the presenter at a teacher workshop recently. I told the participates I had retired because I lost some of my enthusiasm, but wanted to share some ideas with them. At the break one of the participates asked my daughter who had accompanied me there what I was like before I lost my enthusiasm. ha ha! Planning on "moving" for a long time, but am definitely going to eliminate some of the crazier things I do -- like jumping off the stage, carrying heavy objects and standing on one foot. ha ha! xoxo
