I think people tend to think that legacies left behind after their passing should be grand gestures or fame, but for most people your legacy is many little gestures or interactions with others that impact them personally. Your story is testament to both! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your blog Jan.I admire people who are humble and low although they know that they are famous.I haven’t met this lady but I heard from her interview that she prefers to be addressed by her name instead of Secretary of Education and Vice President of the whole country. I agree with what you said.It is not who we are or God can do for us but how we can serve Him.For whoever exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be exalted (Matthew 23:12. I am trying my best to serve Him in my own little way .My mobility is now limited I am now 79 I hope I can still serve Him more. God bless my friend.
Hi Elisa ~ I'm 75 with pretty good mobility still, but I'm thinking about the day I won't be able to get around a lot too. I know ladies who sew bibs for newborns at the hospital, make tray favors for nursing home patients, read to kids at the library, fold newsletters at the Sr. Center, read scripture on FaceTime to shut-ins. I hope He shows me more way to serve Him too. Blessings, Friend! xoxo
I remember watching on TV when I was a child, Neil Armstrong take those first steps on the moon. What a privilege for you to have met him. I did hear he had such a humbleness about him. I think being humble is one of the most awesome qualities. It is really hard to find, but if you know someone who is a God fearing true Jesus follower, humbleness will abound. I've never met someone real famous one on one, but I have met some of the most humble people along this journey we call life. For me, that is so uplifting. I treasure each and every one of those memories and the people themselves. We need a lot more humbleness exhibited today, and I know I need to practice it more myself. Thank you for sharing this. I enjoyed reading it. Take care and God bless!
That was a beautiful piece Jan. Humility is a virtue that makes a positive, lasting impression . Stories like this of famous people are inspiring and uplifting. Thank you for sharing positive things about a wonderful man.
Thanks for this writing of a famous person. The greatest person is I have ever met is JESUS CHRIST. He left his footprints everywhere he walked. HIS foot prints are still here, we just have to be willing to look for them . Blessings
