I don't like conventional therapy and little to no luck with life coaches.

However, I've had marvelous luck with intuitive healers. A good one is hard to find but so far I've been blessed and lucky to find two of them, one on the east coast and the other on the west coast. Magical results, luckily... they both had to repair a bit of damage from conventional therapy. The life coaches I've had were both cut from the same cloth, I won't try that route again. The book club sounds wonderful. Mine disbanded when nobody read the books except two of us. Now we're on to game nights. Good read!

The book club sounds like a great idea to me, I'm not in one but I do two things that help me maintain good mental health, walking daily and having a coffee with my friends on Friday afternoons. 🤗

Both of those are so good for your mental health, Elizabeth. I meet with friends pretty often for lunch, but three hours go by before we know it. Poor waitresses. 😂 Are you still in school? Schools here get out for summer vacation next week. {{Hugs}}

Yes, I saw pictures of your wonderful trip with your husband. I wondered if school was out or you were on vacation. Have a good week. xoxo

Jan, I agree with Vicki above on this one. You covered so many aspects of life, some with your great humour but so many difficult topics as well. I have not been a reader of Jodi Picoult or some of the other books you mentioned but you got my attention! You have been blessed with your book club and that painting is a wonderful tribute! Thanks for sharing, hugs xoxo.

Thank you, Rita! You will love Jodi’s books. Wanted to share about mental health care providers. It’s so important to get to the right person if someone needs help. I am so lucky to have my book club friends. xoxo

Look how young we were! That sure brought back a lot of memories. I loved our book club and miss everyone. I still read at least one book a week and am a frequent visitor to the library.

Jan, thank you for the shout out! I definitely agree that life coaches are a beautiful gift to many people. When it does come to having to deal with addiction and some more serious diagnosis having someone trained as a mental health professional is essential. I do know many life coaches that have excellent training and are helping people walk through life’s hardships. I’m going to check out some of those novels you mentioned. I’m always up for a great beach read! Being connected to a group of women is so healing so I applaud your book club for carrying on! Blessings to you!

I admire your work, Tricia. Enjoy listening to your Thursday Tidbits. Get some rest at the beach this summer. I always say I'm closer to God there. xoxo

I’ve read every book we’ve chosen in 20+ years, but I’ve hated some of them. 😂 our group does pretty well, but you can see a blank face every once in awhile. Ha! Sometime I’d like to learn more about intuitive healers with you. I’m not much of a believer in that, but am glad you’ve found help there. The mind is a mysterious, wonderful thing. {{Hugs}}

Jan, a great read about mental health issues and counseling. I like the idea of book clubs as “ mental health” outlet. I belonged to a book club in California where that was part of our gatherings, a check in with how each person was doing, a discussion of the books and sometimes how the books related to our lives. I currently participate in 2 local book clubs, each is different with books but enjoyable .in one of them we discuss the book with the focus of how it relates to our lives, the other is similar but more about feelings from the book, our enjoyment of the book, etc.
