Yeah, that's when I knew it was time to stop. driving -when my grandsons wouldn't ride with me any longer - I was too slow.

Ha! Good sign. When we go somewhere, my daughter always wants to drive. She drives so fast she makes me nervous. Xoxo

I have to laugh, because "they" drive too fast for me.

Love this! Your mom sounds like a true gem…and you much like her with your sense of laughter.

My mom is very “artsy and gutsy” all at the same time. One time, she decided to wallpaper the connecting bathroom to their master suite. She had chosen a beautiful tropical print with many colorful flowers and birds…only she chose to have the ceiling wallpapered as well so it was like you were in an aviary every time you used the loo or showered. Now, because we lived in a small town, her wallpapering friend may have gossiped a time or two about her latest project. Before long, we had people, some known and some unknown, stop to ask…you guessed it ~”Could we see this bathroom of yours?” My dad couldn’t believe we were giving tours of our aviary!🤣🤣

Oh Cindy — our moms must are so alike. My mom’s last bathroom was wallpapered in silver foil with big palm leaves and huge orange hibiscus. 😊 Another reason you & I click! ❤️

Yes! Now that I've let my hair go white, I get the crazy drivers screaming as well. I'm 61 and the platinum looks GOOOOOD, according to my husband. But as I've said before, to others it means that I should be living in a fairy tale cottage on chicken legs.

What the heck! I am a senior driver. It became quite clear to me on Christmas Eve after I clipped an open truck door with my passenger side mirror. No human injuries (maybe a little mental). Ever since then I've been nervous about night driving but enough of this.

Your Mom sounds like a friend of my Mom's who painted a pair of dress shoes to match my very flowery high school Christmas dance dress. I remember thinking I looked like a huge bouquet of flowers. 💐😅

Like you & your Mom, my Mom had a fun sense of humor (which did not get passed on to me). I don't see much of my Mom in me though. I have more of my Dad's characteristics & behaviors and I'm ok with that.

I really enjoyed this story Jan. Thank you for sharing.

Omg I clipped the money holder at a drive-thru bank once. And I was only 40 back then. 😂 I notice I’m losing a bit of driving confidence myself now that I’m older. I would have loved to have seen your dance shoes. When my mom died, we sent boxes of her shoes to Haiti. I’m sure there was a pair with painted flowers on them in there. Dad’s are special people —glad you’ve got some of him with you. Xoxo

This is a great tribute to your mom. I can tell where you get your fabulous sense of humor and creativity. I watch out for older drivers, too, and I am quite sure I will never be one!. 🤪

Funny thing is I didn't recognize my mom's great sense of humor until she was dying and I was there taking care of her. S#*t was another one of her favorite words. One time she gave me a golf skirt with the word s#*t made into butterflies all over it. 😂

I can imagine how much fun your mom was and from whom you inherited that spark you have. I have a lot of my mom's too, although I don't take things as seriously as she does and I'm not as formal as her. Hugs 🤗

Jan you made me laugh with your mom driving on the left side of the road. Special when she yelled Asshole. I think I would have said Mom! Just because I was shocked she said Asshole 😂 your mom sounds like a very special lady. We can learn a lot from our moms even the funniest things about our mom’s. Thank you Jan for sharing story about your mom.
