Happiest birthday wishes to your daughter!! Mindy has my age, she sure is a beautiful lady. God bless her!! My daughter turns 30 this year, it’s hard to only find one thing to tell you that is a blessing. I’m very proud of everything that she has achieved in her life, she is the sweetest and kindest person ever and I miss her terribly. I can’t wait to see her this August when we fly down south to celebrate her 30th birthday ! ♥️ Great job once again Jan !!🙏

Oh, I could be your mom. Fun to know! Where does your daughter live, Irene?

Sevasti lives at Adelaide in South Australia , she went there to go to university as here in Darwin we are a very small city with only one university. Met the love of her life there and they have been happily living together for the last 12 years so she has settled there since then!♥️

Jan, I already told you that I love your writing and the humor you introduce into the story!

I loved meeting Mindy and I identify with her a little - lol

Mindy, continue to defend the oppressed and, if necessary, take the big stick and face the "bullies"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MINDY!

This was a winner, Jan! Happy “50” to Mindy!! You can’t be that old...really? You didn’t look it at lunch the other day!

My 3 daughters are like night, day and then mid afternoon! Ha ha! Same parents...same upbringing but differences to embrace!!

My eldest is very book and life smart and took all types of advanced classes and courses in college..,studied in Italy.

My middle daughter’s kindergarten teacher wanted to hold her back b/c she believed that my daughter was deficient in eye/hand coordination and would have a lifelong struggle. We didn’t retain her and now I so badly want to be able to say to her teacher(God rest her soul) ...she is redoing a 150 year old house.....learned to drywall, plumb, wire, cuts tile with a water saw and uses her artistic creativity to make beautiful showers. She changes the fuses in the microwave, takes apart the toaster...you get the idea

(My oldest couldn’t be bothered changing a fuse or putting a toaster back

together...excellent mother and writer, tho)

My youngest...depends on the day.....fix it herself or call her older sister(the fix it one 🤣). She has the most patience of any mother I have ever met...she didn’t get that from EITHER parent. Maybe it’s “When I’m a parent I will be patient” not like someone else I know teehee.

Love them all and would be bored silly if they were Stepford daughters 🤣🤣

Yes, on the photos!

The weekend was fantastic ~ so good to be together with no agenda and much less chaos w/o everyone. What mom doesn’t like time with her kids( and bonuses with the 2 youngest granddaughters)😊

Jan, loved this post...oh my daughter just turned 50 this month. She was my out going child, said it was her 2 year old brother who wrote her name in crayon on her bedroom wall...she was 4, she got her brother to pee in the corner then told on him, she was 5, as a teenager she cut classes, snuck out of the house, was the one who gave us the most challenges...today she is a wonderful mom, wife and pre-school teacher, who enjoys life, still out going, and takes most things in stride...thanks for another wonderful story...oh my son who is 48 this year was the cranky baby but quieter, calmer child.

Oh Linda ~ I love hearing about your kids!!! I bet those pre-school kids have fun with your daughter. Can you believe we have kids in their 50's? We can't be that old. ha ha! xoxo

That was my thought on her birthday....my daughter has fun with them, tells cute stories all the time...latest one “ one of her students brought in treats for his birthday, said there’s one for you and one for your mom....”

I have to laugh -- if I ever stop by Mindy's class, the kids look at me like I have two heads. I'm not sure 6th graders realize their teacher has parents. ha ha!

My son was the opposite. We never had any problems with him, (his father's genes, not mine!) There was a time when Chris was a teenager when he had a couple of blankets folded up and lying on the floor by the foot of his bed. They remained there for days. When I passed by, I would say, "Chris, why don't you put those blankets on top of your bed?" He would just go about doing what he was doing. One day, I passed by his room and saw him kneeling on the blankets praying to God. He was doing the best thing a person could do on earth. I felt so dumb!

Another great story. I had two daughters, five years apart. My oldest daughter was very sensible, like to sit in her room and read all day long. Did well at school, never had any complaints, you get the picture. My youngest daughter was the social butterfly. She could have done better with her grades at school, but she was friendly to everyone, and always catered and centered herself around the underdogs. Both of my daughters were very caring and kind to everyone they met, but that is what I instilled in them. My youngest daughter probably had more struggles in life than her older sister, because she was a worrier, And still is today, even though she has a very strong faith. But she is the one that is the most creative, opening her own business on Etsy two years ago. She still had his son at home and she needed to work from home. She has RA, and she struggles with her hands and her joints, but she has a very successful business. I am proud of both of my daughters. They are both done very well with their lives. And they both have a great sense of humor, which I have always had I am blessed, and it just keeps getting better and better as I age. Thank you for sharing your story., And as always, it didn’t disappoint me. Blessings……

Happy 50th Mindy!! Grown into quite the strong lady!! (probably with the influence from a strong Mom and Dad setting examples!) She and Misty were great kiddos to babysit, maybe just a bit ornery! ;) “If you’ve never said, ‘You need to back up a little so I can wipe myself,’ then you’ve never had kids.” ~ TheMotherOctopus.............love this!!

Ah, thanks Vicki -- we both have some really great "kids"! xoxo

I had one of those kids. He was the kid that humbled me as a parent because our first child made me feel like a champion in the parenting department. The second one was the child who did everything I said my children would never do. But he's an amazing, kind, smart, generous adult who makes me proud every day.
