I am glad you were able to see the eclipse-it was not in my area, but my 12 year old grandson who lives in another state saw and got it on video. So when i see him, i will get to view it.

I don’t think i have ever been star struck, i have been to concerts and have maybe followed some for a time being, but don’t recall being star struck, but happy for you that you got to meet “Neil.”

Enjoyed your story. Blessings friend!!

Isnt it amazing to be able to tell our grandchildren where we were when they landed on the moon. We were sent home from school to watch it on TV, which we had only just acquired.

Wow, Jan, what a great story! Well done! Mrs. Kinley would be very proud of your writing skills! 😉 I, too, once had a brush with a famous celebrity: I actually played football in high school with Al Stoneburner! Great player, teammate, and just an all around good guy. Have you met him???

Hi Jan, What a cool story and great memory. I had to think for a while for any similar experiences - only one came to mind - meeting Willie Mays, the baseball player.

This is so very pertinent with our grandchildren just learning their grandfather also was an old friend of Neil Armstrong, then visiting our Museum’s recent display featuring Armstrong and experiencing the Eclipse. As always, Jan your writing strikes a positive chord for this lucky, community you serve! Thank You!

This was a fun read. I was star struck when I met Tom Watson practicing out on a driving range in Las Vegas. I'd forgotten about it until you mentioned the LPGA tournament. I've been around a lot of stars (in close proximity but never in deep conversation or anything that exciting) and rarely got tongue tied, except one time. I was at an after concert party for Frank Sinatra and he was there, something I didn't expect, and seeing him up close and personal definitely left me speechless. I couldn't stop staring at him. He had an amazing powerful presence for such a little guy.
