RETIREMENT -- Part 3c

Day 10-12: Sorrento, Island of Capri, Amalfi Coast

Southern Italy was beautiful especially the coastal shoreline. Ok , I admit it — I had to close my eyes at times as we drove up the 25 mile stretch of Amalfi Dr. ha!

Day 10:          Free Day in Sorrento

                       Optional Tour of Island of Capri

Boat trip around the Island of Capri

Wading in the Bay of Naples

Day 11:     Day trip down Amalfi Coast

Famous for its cliffside houses and villages

Roads high above sea with vertical mountains on one side, long vertical drop on other (no guardrails)

Day 12:    Return to USA from Rome

I included the names of the hotels where we stayed in parenthesis throughout the itinerary.  All of them were very nice. We had wonderful food everywhere –  lots of fresh vegetables,  real pasta, and wine,  of course. (Coca Cola was $7 a can)
