I love this story. When my grandkids were little, a friend of theirs used to say “Don’t Pancake!” instead of “Panic” - we still say that to this day!

Love it! I'm going to start using that term. Who won't laugh when you say, "Don't Pancake!" Thanks! xoxo

I loved the quote, thanks for sharing it. I think we have to look ahead and face what is coming, but we will be better prepared if we look at our past mistakes and successes.

When I was a child and did some mischief, my mom told me that she would take a deep breath so as not to yell at me... now I understand, I put that into practice sometimes with my students.🌼

Yes, our emotions definitely can sneak up on us with our students. I should have taken more deep breaths with my high schoolers. They were dealing with so many emotional things at their age. A lot of days we were on a wild ride together -- but it sure was fun!

I imagine it was a great ride! 😍

Great story. It's amazing how the past bubbles up and surfaces during current situations in our lives. I appreciate the scientific explanation you have shared. It happens to me a lot. I have been "saved" so many times by just breathing and remaining calm. These are crazy times and it's so easy to panic. That is the worst thing we can do!

Philip ~ I think you would really like Dr. Taylor's two books about her stroke & what she learned from it. (I may have mentioned them to you before.) If you don't have time to read, her You tube videos & Ted talk are excellent too. Thanks again for reading my stories. I love your feedback. ~ J.

Your writing is always fun and interesting. Regarding Dr. Taylor, I thought the same thing when reading your post. I'll definitely have to check out her Ted talk and maybe find her books as well. Thanks!

Okay now I remember, Graham featured her in a podcast some years ago. She was so interesting and now I have to follow up.

Yes, he did. That's where I found out about her. She has actually answered my questions through FB messenger -- a committed neuroscientist eager to improve the world through her experience.

I love Max Lucado’s quote. I constantly look through the rear view mirror. It’s a bad habit I need to get rid of. Thanks for the reminder. 💗

Lucado's quotes are great! I have to work on looking toward the Future. Sometimes we can't help living in the Past -- it was fun there -- sometimes! Showing my age... ha ha! Have a great day, Elaine! xoxo

Me too! You know you're getting old when you're always talking about the Past. Ha Ha! I have a lot of great memories from the Past. Just have to watch out for the ones that haunt us. Have a great day, Lynn! xoxo

Jan, this is funny, but also reality for a lot of us. Amazing how God works because something I came across in my emails while working a few minutes ago was a devotion on Breathe, just Breathe and thank God he gave us the breath of life. Jeremiah 33_3-4, NIV - “My words come from an upright heart; my lips sincerely speak what I know. The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” Thought I'd add that bit. Thanks again, and I thoroughly enjoy reading what you write and share with us. Take care and God bless!

Hi Anne ~ I love the little synchronies -- or I call them God winks -- that happen in Life. I think God is winking at you with the "double" Just Breathe" messages -- reassuring you that you are on the right path. He is Good! Hugs xoxo

Jan, you could be right. God definitely works in that way. I've had quite a few of those in the past few months or so. All I know is I'm staying on this path and sharing what God lays on my heart. Haven't been this excited and at the same time blessed in so long. One Day at a Time with God leading the way! Hope you have a great weekend!
