I’m so glad I learned and am learning not to take everything to “worst case scenarios”. I wanted to say what I’m most worried about is to feed my kids but honestly I’m not even worried about that cause my God is and will take care of us. My main focus is to know my God and do His Will; can’t even say I’m worried about it but that is a concern right now. Like earlier I told him the harder I try to pay off debt the more emergencies happen and the amount goes up instead of down. I was challenged to do an unselfish act once a day intentionally; the more I do that the more things go wrong……. So I was having a conversation about that with Him. No, not everything is a catastrophe.
Hello, Laura ~ it definitely is difficult to "let go & let God," but I find it works. I try to find 10 small things I'm grateful as I fall asleep each night. It has changed my attitude. I actually look for them during the day, and they seem to be all around me. Thanks for commenting. I really enjoyed reading your reply. xoxo
Yes, at the latest 5 am! He’s in bed by 7, not a TV fan at all! I’m up at 6 so it doesn’t bother me, but I don’t nap like he does……..sitting up strait in a rocking chair! I’m surprised that his neck isn’t permanently crooked.
I'm a "boomer" too, but a younger one. I do remember when the Cuban Missile Crisis was on, one of our teachers said he didn't know whether or not to assign us any homework over the weekend, as we might be dead by Monday. That was my first big scare. I've had others, but fortunately, can't remember them. Nowadays it is "climate crisis". I have to think, some incredibly bright spark is apt to invent something that will change all that. Maybe that person hasn't been born yet. All I know is, everything changes. People didn't used to have computers or mobile phones. It wasn't available anywhere. It hadn't been invented. What is the next invention that is going to change the world? Who knows. I may, or may not, be here to see it. Either way is OK with me.
Hi Rose ~ my 28 year old granddaughter is an electrical engineer. She has government clearance and works on satellites. She gives me hope for the future. As you said, the one thing we can be sure of is change. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. xoxo
Love this and as a later boomer can totally relate. I remember the duck and cover exercises, the air raid siren drills (still get the occasional nightmare about trying to find my family), and hearing adults talking about the world ending due to acid rain and running out of oil and gas. One vivid memory was horse back riding along on a trail ride and hearing adults discussing whether a new ice, pollution or no petroleum would get us first. And I sure do remember asbestos fears. In grade 6 we made a big lighted relief map made from asbestos mache. I was allergic to that classroom and sneezed alot when we were working on the project. We also made our Christmas village from asbestos mache ... not to mention playing for hours with mercury, no seat belts, no helmets, eating eggs, ....
I too take some of current fashionable causes for imposed fears du jour with a grain of salt.
🤣😂😅 We appreciate your “calming” examples of why NOT to worry, as daily news frightens me enough to quit breathing. Then offer Van to try your nasal finger test?
Hi Vicki — I just tell myself I’ve lived through every President so far whether I agreed with them or not AND my kids & grandkids are reallllly smart. I’m not going waste my last decade whining & fretting. There’s so much to enjoy in the world. Just breathe. ❤️
I can't help but say that I laughed out loud reading your text.🤣😂
As for my concern at the moment, I just want to wake up, go to the beach, have a "caipirinha" - a wonderful drink that is typically Brazilian and enjoy the summer...😃⛱️🌊
Haha, this is timely. The other night I put my finger under my husband's nose to see if he was breathing and then stayed up all night worrying about it. I wonder if worrying more comes along with aging. If so, I'd better get a handle on it. Great reminder of all the stuff we've lived through and we're still here to share and sometimes even laugh about it!

The devil loves to play havoc in your life. Keep your faith. God always has it!
That would be Bill too!
Does Bill still get up at the crack of dawn? 😉

Thanks for your comment, Angela. I'm like you -- the beach sounds awesome. It is winter here with loads of snow, ice and wicked winds. xoxo

We definitely need some laughs once in a while. I'm glad I made you laugh. Thanks for letting me know. xoxo {{Hugs}}
