Thanks for the chuckle! I am sure I will have a big bag for the of errors for the trash! 🤣 Amazing how many things we forget from our school days. It’s problematic.
I always enjoy your grammar stories. This particular one crosses into the realm of spelling challenges for me. I have always been a poor speller. I grew up in a household of very high IQ parents and sisters. Our every day vocabulary was sophisticated, so I know how words sound. Unfortunately, I just don't have the knack of remembering written letter patterns. For me, the issue of its and it's isn't a problem of not knowing there's a difference. I just can't remember which which is which.
As to dealing with change, I can make a pretty good argument that language is like climate ... it's always changing its mind (see how I did that). We used to have an 18th Century dictionary on our shelf and I was astounded to discover how much spelling, connotation and even denotation of words have changed.
So maybe we should just go to its for both and maybe I should accept that "irregardless" is a proper word in 21st century language. 🤔 🙃🤠
Oh I do. If I learn a tip to remember it helps. Eg., when a former boss kindly corrected me on desert vs dessert with a tip that with dessert you want more, I never got that wrong again.
Oh my gosh you are so intense in your pursuit of good grammar!🥰 Thanks for the ways you find to teach proper use of English! You made the beginning of my day very enjoyable,Jan or I mean Mrs. Old Lady with the Red Purse.
I’m thankful for my life changing to a place where my parents once were . I see things in my life that if they had been there for them their lives would’ve been better. Thanks for sharing,
Glad you have set the record straight. We were taught its is "his" or "her", it shows possession. So I've never had difficult with it and every time I need to choose which word, I always think, is this a phrase of "it is"?

Thanks, Diane. I'm having fun reviewing things myself. xoxo
Thanks for this lighthearted look into the English language. P.S. we have had the ribitic arm picking up our rubbish for quite a number of years now.
My pleasure, Teresa! I'm having fun being goofy. I think we may be behind the times with this robotic arm. You can't believe the resistance! xoxo

Oh, I love this comment, Karen! I have a feeling you don't need any goofy grammar lessons. Hugs & High 5's

Oh, I was hoping I didn't look very intense. Just having fun. Put that old red pen away years ago. Ha! Glad I helped start your day. {{Hugs}}

Yes, most change is good. It's just natural to resist it. Time goes so fast... xoxo

Yay! You had a great teacher. It's a simple one, but often confused. Thanks for commenting. xoxo
