I'm so excited. This week I'm putting a bathing suit and going swimming. I don't care what people think or even how I look. I'm doing this is a place where I don't know a soul. How utterly refreshing 'bathing beauty be damned'! Good read, aging isn't what I'd call fun but certainly better than the alternative as my mother used to say!
Oh, Patti ~ my mom used to say that too along with "It's better to be on this side of the grass" when we were golfing. Ha! Love to hear you are going swimming this week. We have a pool so I almost live in a bathing suit. Several years ago I bought what they call a Miracle Suit. It was so tight when it got wet I could hardly get it off. I actually felt panicky. You're right "bathing beauty be damned." {{Hugs}}
I found a TYR suit that’s perfect for lap swimming and splashing around. I’m heading to a lake today to try it out. It isn’t too tight but it does hold the junk in! If I had an accessible pool close to me, I’d be doing the same thing you do! XX
I never was either, Janice, but you know how Substack recommends catchy titles. Ha Ha! I have an appt with dermatologist Monday. I'm one big age spot. There's probably another blog coming on that... xoxo
Who are we trying to impress in our senior years anyway besides ourselves? I'm just happy to be reasonably healthy and able to move around! And you look youthful and fantastic!
I think my mom had an effect on me. She always commented on people's weight. Funny part was she was chunky herself. Ha! Now I'm a bit anxious about going to the dermotologist next week. I've become one Big age spot. I ended up getting poor cataract correction because I had memorized the sight chart because I wanted to impress the eye doctor. Oh gees, there's a good blog in here somewhere. hahaaaaaaa! xoxo
I do understand as I was the same as you when I was young. However, as I grew “bigger” I never let it hold me back from what I enjoyed most, swimming in an ocean or swimming pool.
Every day I become aware of self-Aware as I age. I just say oh well I am here. That is more than some can say. Be happy take one day at a time.
I agree, Susie! I'm so grateful to see another day... {{Hugs}}

I never saw myself as a bathing beauty - so no problem there. Today I'm very aware of the agng body that is mine.
