This is such a wonderful project and I love seeing how all the individual art collectively makes a masterpiece!

It really is. I think I may do it again next year. We really want to see the real mural some day.

Oh, Lucy ~ I was going to ask you if you ever go to Grand Fork, but I checked the map & saw you live 5 hours from there. If you go there this fall, please take a picture of YOU in front of our mural. I would love that sooooooo much. My friend Kathy's husband is in hospital now fighting cancer. He had a stem cell transplant this week. xoxo

You are definitely right about that, Halina. When you get your tile(s), you can join a FB page where people post their finished tiles. It's so much fun to see the variety in topics, colors, talents. People do it with the children & grandparents. I'm hoping to get my family to do it. And every tile is special because it is part of the whole.

I started painting seriously about three years ago. My daughter and I get together almost daily to paint for a couple of hours. It is quite therapeutic - the process and the product bring joy.

Janice — That is so awesome you can paint with your daughter. My one daughter is more a scientist so we look at rock apps 😂 but my other daughter is a musician so I do try to sing with her.

The important thing, I think, is doing something with them.

This excites me. Unlike you I let my art teacher's opinion sway me. So I did nothing with colored pencils and markers for years. I LOVE working with and immersing in color. I've been coloring up a storm using acrylic crayons and markers recently, limited to coloring books. I feel a sense of courage rising and plan on branching out to playing with creating abstract art. No self-judgement, I give.myself full permission to make bad art.

I'm looking into this project of yours, it sounds like fun!! Great share, thank you.

Oh, Patti -- do this! Don't let your left brain judge it. The levels of art are unbelievable -- from 2 yr old paintings to full-bloom experts, but I didn't care. I had to use stencils. Ha! You can join a FB page & see the ones being sent in for your mural. One tile costs $39 I believe, but you can buy more for reduced amounts. It is really simple to do & FUN!

Haha, I'm sure I'll have to use stencils too. But I love the idea so much it's worth trying and leaving the judgment behind. I'm not on FB, but will find a way to see it through my husband, he's on it.
