Jan,

I loved your text, light and with humor when approaching such an important subject!

I've always boasted of having a great memory, in fact, I do. But, I'm distracted and any movement takes my focus. Also, I'm a master at forgetting where I parked my car lol I've called the police thinking it had been stolen, when in fact it was parked somewhere else...

P.s.: Sorry for grammatical errors, as you know I'm Brazilian, so English is not my first language

Hi Angela ~ your English grammar is wonderful. It's better than most Americans. ha! I had to laugh about you thinking someone stole your car. That's happened to me too, but I figured it out before I called the police. Funny! I have accused my students many times of stealing my keys when they didn't. Embarrassing! Yes, I am trying to use humor to ease the fears that come with aging. I hope it works. xoxo

You're right, humor is essential in every stage of our life!

As for grammar, the merit belongs to the translator that I use lol when I write without this support it is horrible lol.

WOW thanks for the encouragement, I went back to studying English, but it's a challenge for me, I'm not good at languages, especially speaking and writing...

I will continue, because I want to be able to talk to Graham and Donny lol

That was funny Jan! I can be looking for something that is in my hand, or sunglasses that are on my head. I have even mastered the art of losing what I want to say in the middle of a sentence! Don’t get me started on putting my foot in my mouth. My husband says I do it so often that I should buy my shoes from the dentist! 😳

Oh Debbie ~ that's funny! I've got some of those "foot-in-mouth" ones that make my hair curl when I think of them. xoxo

I had to laugh at not noticing your car Jan. I had to laugh because just this week I had a forgetful moment. I was at work, I had just e-mailed my boss with my vacation PTO(payed time off) paper. I unconsciously took it off the printer laid it on the counter. I looked at The printer saying where is that paper. I looked all over that printer lifted up the top pulled out the drawers everything. I by that time ended up getting my nurse Kelly me and her couldn’t figure out where the paper went. I happen to turn towards the counter and go oh my God it’s right here me and her stood at the printer and just laughed. Now talk about a senior moment.

My last distraction was during the trip to Santiago, we organized the farewell and transportation to the airport for Wednesday, August 3, everything super planned, suddenly I saw the ticket was for Friday the 5th ! Nobody could believe it, the good thing was that we had a double farewell.

Hi Elizabeth ~ Two more days on a girls' trip sounds great to me!!! When I went to Italy with girlfriends, I kept checking everything -- times, locations, etc. Also, kept checking my purse to make sure no one stole my purse or passport. Gees, I was paranoid. Glad you had a great time.

And it continues. Went for an apt. August 1. The receptionist said “No your apt is Sept. 1”.

This was only last month!!! Seems to be an ongoing thing!!!! At least we can laugh about it!!!

One year I went to get my car inspected. The attendant at the station motioned to me to go

To the station on the far end near the exit. As I approached the door opening the attendant kept waving me on and told me to exit, go home and come back next year. I was ONE YEAR EARLY.

This is so true and beautifully written. Oh my. Assuredly I have had such 'brain farts'. However, so many and so often I can't remember now😉

or is that denial ?

Thank you so much for sharing Jan, it helps to know I am not alone. It also will help me to laugh at myself more.

Now I am excited to read more of your posts. 🥰

I used chemo brain for my forgetfulness this fast 8 years lol.I forget having conversations and I start answering my dialect especially I just had a conversation with my siblings . Sometimes my husband reminds me speak English as I just keep carrying a conversation that he can understand but cannot speak my native language.

Lucy ~ you definitely have an excuse!!! I hear chemo fog is definitely real. How awesome to be able to speak several languages. Most kids in American schools have to take a second language, but no one really knows how to speak it when they're done. Sad!

I know my son took Spanish so he A that as he was thought with my family. In my native land in the Philippines we have 77 dialects and I can only speak two and English is our second language at school.

Omg, Susan ~ I haven't done that one yet, but I'm always looking for my glasses that are on the top of my head. Maybe we should come up with some kind of invention that locates our phones & glasses. I'm pretty sure they have it for keys already. Ha Ha!
