Great, Diane! Maybe we can check in with each other once in awhile for motivation. I have such a hard time sticking to anything. Good Luck! {{Hugs}}

I scored a 27 but I have to say that this week I was down on the floor layering a quilt and I had to do it in stages and it was harder to get up than it should have been. I didn't need assistance, but I did use the couch for leverage. I will be adding more leg strength training...... I saw a meme the other day that said something about not being able to do situps anymore and not being able to get up from trying. Getting old is not for the weak!

I thought of you tonight when I was out in garage trying to get up off the floor. I was painting a big sign for Rally in Alley. Stoney was sitting on a rolling stool beside me. I had to grab him by the neck to pull myself up. As we were rolling along the floor, I said to myself, "Oh for heavens sakes. Cathey didn't need Keith to get herself up." Ha! xoxo

I have one problem. I find it difficult to open some jars, not all. Other than that I can do all listed quite easily plus I play badminton twice a week. I turn 90 in just a few weeks so count myself lucky.

You are my heroine, Marion! I tried badminton last summer and couldn't run fast enough to get birdie. Do you have one of those rubber circles thingies to help with jars? It's getting harder for me to shuffle cards for bridge. My thumbs hurt! Oweeie! Happy Birthday a bit early. {{Hugs}}

Hi Lynn! I almost became like a bear hibernating last winter. My walking trail is flooded from spring rains right now, but I'm looking forward to getting back to my daily exercise too. 27 is really a great score! xoxo

I used to practice falling until I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. Now, I have to be careful but I'm grateful I hit the highest score, for now. There is always room for improvement.

Balance is something I work on all the time, now it's a habit. I like to balance like a stork on the bosu ball, you should try it! Great reminder we must keep moving, maladies and all!

Oh, Patti ~ I have osteoporosis too. In my right hip they tell me??? My doctor says I may break a hip, then fall. Yikes! She convinced me to take Prolia shots two times a year since I can't take the oral meds. I'm not sure I'm doing the right thing. She says walking is the best prevention. I can definitely do that. I will check out the bosu ball. Thanks!

Hi Jan, We'll never know if we're doing the right thing. I did Reclast, one shot a year. Now it's a waiting game. I bought a rebounder and bounce on it, walk as much as I can, and I take calcium gummies twice a day. This osteoporosis is a beast. But it's the cross we must bear, so we do the best we can and stay active, that's about all we can do!

G'day ladies! I came across a good way that may help with balance. A good way to get better at it is to do heel lifts on two feet at first, then on each leg separately. To do them slowly raise your heel off the ground while balancing on the balls of your feet. It may take some time to work up to it, but work up to doing 30 every day, first with both feet on the ground, then 30 on only the left and 30 only on the right foot. Use a nearby chair if you feel you need it for extra balance initially. You can do heel lifts sitting down too, which will engage more of the muscle in the back of your leg and hams.

Thanks for the advice, Bob. I'm going to try it. I'll get back to you if I fall down. Ha Ha!

Ah, I wore stiletto heels for years, my calves are definitely worked out above average, and I must be careful to stretch the achilles tendon (prior) which you didn't mention... and I do squats on the balls of my feet... but thank you for the suggestions!

Well a score of 14 isn’t good but it happens. Coming up on 83 in another month. My biggest issue is lack of stamina, I get tired after simple chores. And forget shopping for more than an hour or so especially without a cart to hold on to. I have the grocery checkout divide my purchases amoung several bags it take so they won’t be too heavy to load in the trunk. Forget self check! I do go to our condo gym twice a week and bike 7-8 miles each time. Arthritis complicates a lot of things. Thankful I had 2 knee replacements 8 years ago or I’d probably need a walker! Keep moving!❤️
