There are a few people I can think of. My mom, 93; Helen 99; Mary Dolby, 95; Milton, 96; Ann, 95. Everyone was so vibrant, until they weren’t. They meet every Saturday for breakfast and dinner on Friday evenings with canes, walkers and then wheelchairs. They laughed and talked about their spouses and children, the good old times, dancing the nights away, traveling and life in general. They all were active until their 90’s and then slowed down hesitantly. My mom always said “Go while your feet can take you”. I’m going, going, going until my boots wear out..👢👢👢

Elaine ~ Love your mom's advice!!! I am seeing that in some people I know too. All of a sudden it just happens -- "slow-down" time. But that's awesome that your mom & friends were in their 90's before it hit. Here's to sturdy, long lasting boots! xoxo

Jan, sitting enjoying coffee with a friend when approached by a former business associate, younger associate and I’m the older person. NO ! It’s difficult to be gracious when your brain is screaming not me! When did this happen? On the inside I still feel 35 but that’s not what is seen, my step is little slower but hey I’m still the same. I won’t go without a fight. Thank you for sharing.

Cathy ~ I know how you feel. I'm in fighting mood too. ha ha! I was at the dentist's the other day & the receptionist kept referring to her grandmother as being similar to me. My granddaughter is 26 -- so I guess she wasn't far off, but it felt funny. Not me! xoxo

I'm thinking about my mom, she is 89 years old, she was a gym teacher, she is very active, has a fabulous memory and we try to go on trips together at least once a year, and I'm also thinking about my mother-in-law, she is 92 years old, she practices tai-chi and loves to organize meetings with her friends.

Now, she’s watching from above, my best elder friend, Nora Kinley, (educator) would always draw out my best thoughts, most precise English grammar, and true self-confidence.

My ex neighbor, Wanda, Just turned 100 years of age on 28 May. She has been living in the nursing home across the street for the past two years. Before she moved to the nursing home, she made me fudge, chocolate and peanut butter was her specialty, every year for Christmas. And it was delicious! her son still takes her to her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster, once a month for dinner and she loves to go to the casino after dinner or just about anytime. Oh the stories she would tell me. And in her birthday card i put several scratch off lottery tickets and she loved them, her son shared with me.

I've heard that 90 is the new 60 when it comes to aging.

I don't know anyone that is living in their 90s but have 2 dear friends who have reached their mid to late 80s. One has a generous heart & wise soul and helps out the grandkids by babysitting the greatgrans a couple of days a week.

She & the love of her life still enjoy travel adventures.

My other octogenarian friend is full of vim, vigor & laughter. She loves to dance. She's out walking every morning. Doesn't own a computer or smartphone. She recently was so happy that she was able to pass her driver's test.

I love knowing & sharing time with these folk - we have been long time "choir sisters".

I used to teach a weekly Bible study class of "little old ladies". I loved when they shared their wisdom and talked about "the good old days". They were all so sweet and some were quite spunky. I guess I never thought I'd be there. I hope to stay spunky. 😊

Cathey -- one time I spoke at a literary club of “older” women. I was half giddy by the time I left they were so delightful. Hoping to be just like them too!

Aging is a privilege . Some people never live to see old age. I know my grandchildren think we are really old. I can still cook , go to grocery. I just get up every day thanking GOD I made another day. Enjoy everyday .

Great advice, Susie! When my mom & I used to play golf together & she had a bad shot she’d say, “Better to be on this side of the grass.” Ha ha! I’m off to the golf course now. Better to be on this side of the grass... xoxo Have a great day!!!
