Thanks, Elizabeth ~ they say enthusiasm means "God within." I sure hope so. {{Big Hug}} back at you. My daughter's school has been cancelled 3 different days because of the heat index. No air conditioning in the building. Crazy weather here. Hope all is well at your school. xoxo
While I haven't reached my 70s yet, after sitting in our truck most of the day yesterday, my 60 something body is complaining like it's 78. As they say, getting old is not for the feint of heart. Today I will try to walk out the kinks. But staying young at heart, like you are, is the best way we can age! Happy birthday, Jan! Have a fantastic, fun, young-at-heart day!
Where are you now? Besides walking the kinks out I mean. Ha! I went to the chiropractor the other day so I could move my neck. I think I got stoved up from my arms hanging over my inner tube too long. Thanks for the birthday wishes. xoxo
My medicine cabinet looks similar, and I have used most items on your list. Happy 78th Birthday, Jan. It's not bad—it's just a number. Take it from someone who knows. 😊
HA!! I loved this! I fuss up and fret about just this quite often. It’s true I can’t just slide right into a room anymore and feel I fit in. But I always find myself chatting with people of all ages and even having fun!! I’m going to borrow your Mom’s phrase and make it mine! I still feel young at heart so should live it. And Happy Birthday!!🎂
Yes, it can feel awkward if you focus on age. I just laugh at myself when I use "outdated" language or tell the same story twice. Ha! Thanks for commenting. Let's stay young-at-heart together, Joan. xoxo
Thanks, Deb -- this retirement gig is pretty fun, isn't it? You have the cutest grandchildren. My oldest is getting married in March in California. Looking forward to it. xoxo
Happy Birthday Mrs Stoneburner. I will never get used to calling you Jan, out of respect. But, as your former student and at my old age of 62, I think I have tried most of those test products. Most don’t take away our life lines.
God has granted us this amazing life and you have lived your best life and I am so glad you share it with us.
A year ago I wrote my story. I placed it in my safe for my children to read. It was amazing throughout my career as a State and Federal Compliance Officer what I was involved in and didn’t share with my world/family. They only knew I worked 70 hours a week and was always at the office.
Now, I also get to enjoy life. Being a Gigi to 6 year old twins and Grandma to 3 college age students is wonderful. I am now trying to pass down my passion for cooking and baking to them. I love to rewrite recipes.
I hope they remember me as their loving grandparent. Life is so short and what I have learned is enjoy every moment. Tomorrow is never promised!
PS: God should have given us grandchildren first. By this age, we don’t want to miss one moment of them living their best life!
Hey, Lisa "Logdson" Vaughn -- I'll always remember you as a beautiful, smart, loving force of Nature. Your grandkids are storing a lot of great memories right now, I guarantee you. Have you thought of publishing your book though? I'd love to read it, and I bet others would too. I used Amazon's KDP self-publishing. It's amazing how easy they make it. Thanks for sharing! You helped make this a great day! {{Hugs}}
For 40 years I worked on Interpreting State and Federal Regulations and writing policy and procedures, training webinars and audits. Most people would find my work dry reading after 10,000 pages of a new law. I always thought it fun figuring out how to comply and make it easy for anyone to understand. (Using your imagination was half the battle)
I was part of the 2008 banking whistle blower and introduced new banking compliance in 2014 on capital hill.
All that said, I loved my work, but I missed out on so much as a mother. Working so many hours meant working on homework with my daughter over a phone call. Watching a tennis match from a video and debriefing her day over nightly prayers.
I want my kids to know what I did between the dashes and hope I made a better world, but I hope they remember me as I am now., a loving soul.
On another note, I have written a cookbook and had it printed.
Well, from one slightly younger old one to a slightly older one, thank-you, for never failing to make me laugh. I think if we ever manage to get-together with any of the THC girls those Depends might come in handy, I’m a terrible giggler! 😂😂 hugs!
LOVE this one Jan! I'm in the process of moving this week and have come across products not used in years & that have been replaced with modern day remedies.
I think it's wonderful you're involved with your community theater group.
I am right with you. Use think 80 was old,now I don't think I know how it feels. I am blessed to have reached 80. Chiropractor twice a month. Have a blessed day
Happy Birthday, Jan! You carry youth in your soul. Celebrate life with optimism and gratitude. A big hug. 🥳🤗💛

Thanks Jan! It's unusually cold here. We will have a week's vacation in October. 🥳🎂🎉

Yup! So true! Happy birthday Jan. I love subbing in junior high, they certainly keep you young.
Thanks, Juliann! Yes, those kids sure do help keep you up-to-date on the modern slang, clothing, etc. I'm lost on that now... {{Hugs}}

Happy birthday Jan. Boy, this has certainly come to mind this week as I wrote the article on social media - talk about times changing.
Thanks, Janice -- I don't always comment, but I definitely read everything you write. I really look up to you & your advice. {{Hugs}}
Thanks, Jan. I never miss one of yours either - they bring a smile to my face every time. Take care
Just eat 'til the wrinkles fill out? I don't think it's possible to eat that much!
I know what you mean. I think that's bum advice. My wrinkles are starting to fold over. Ha!
