Haha, this was funny, not the fall, but walking the trail of opposites.

My husband and I do not walk together. We used to. I'm the female version of your husband.

When we walk I don't count it as exercise but as an outing. Then I come back and exercise, haha. Love the images! Happy Midwest Saturday! My husband is just a few miles from where you live as I'm writing this!

Oh, Patti -- the fall was pretty funny too. OMG where was your husband? I would have loved meeting him. I really enjoyed reading your last blog. Keep writing!!! xoxo

Thanks Jan! Carl was in Vermillion, I think. He was on a short layover before starting for Detroit. He wouldn't have stopped to meet you, but had I been along he would have certainly done so! I've gone with him a few times and it's been fun connecting with people, sometimes at a rest area or even a park. We can never stay long, but enough to say howdy do and exchange a few words and a parting hug.

Thank you for the encouragement, I'm kind of stuck at the moment for interesting topics. Tonight I'm dealing a blackjack game, that should be some good fodder!

Ah oh, you fell into "the trap." Ha! I live in "Upper" Sandusky -- 83 miles south west of Vermillion. Not where Cedar Point is. It's called "Upper" because it's where the Sandusky River makes a turn upward toward Lake Erie. Ok, there's your geography lesson for today. Ha Ha! Will look forward to reading about the blackjack game.

Carl knew exactly what you were referring to in my geography lesson! He does a lot of work in Ohio and knows it well. Haha, now I won't make that mistake again... Since we're still living in Michigan I decided to explore more of Ohio. I know Indiana and Illinois fairly well, but Ohio is still. somewhat of a mystery. (And I will certainly pass on Cedar Point, I don't like amusement parks!)

This is the most perfect relationship advice! And it's so funny. My husband always asks me why I like to walk alone. Your story is exactly why. 😅 I like to wander off to explore on my own. My husband doesn't like long walks anyway, so that's not a problem. I walk with him around the circle near our house sometimes, and he can only handle one or two loops. That's the perfect amount of walking time together for us. 🤣

Oh Christina ~ we must be soul sisters. After our last walk, I told my husband I'd walk with him around the circle near our house then I'd walk alone at the park. He agreed. There are no places for me to wander off. Ha! Thanks for commenting. It made my day. xoxo

I'm glad you're okay. Reminds me of the time I fell off the boardwalk at Maumee Bay State Park and landed in the swamp on a second grade field trip, haha!

You just gave me a good chuckle, Brian. I knew we were a lot alike. Perhaps, I do need to grow up a bit though. I don't want you to have to visit me at the Home. xoxo

Hi Jan, I wish that I had learned to laugh as well. It might have made those years at least somewhat more manageable. And thank you for your kind words. I've lost many loved ones and relatives, but this has been very different.

You 2 are the best! ❤️ I'm definitely more Stoney than you...I have a hard taking it all in and appreciating my surroundings like you do. I like my stats, keeping track of my steps and time. Hope your fall doesn't keep you from class! 😄😄

I thought it was so funny Stoney brought you up right away -- like I should be ashamed of myself for falling down. Ha! I did fall on my left shoulder, but I think my "cushiony" coat kept me from getting hurt. One realization I had from this blog post -- I've always been drawn to people like you & Stoney. xoxo

That's the secret, I think, finding the humor in the situation and acceeptance. What a great story!

I think so too, Janice. I wish I had learned to laugh earlier. But I do want you to know what a huge impact you've had on me since I've been reading your newsletter. Whenever I want to grumble at Stoney, I think about you -- and how much you miss Dan. Thanks for sharing your journey. It's making a difference... xoxo

We could have saved 10 minutes?! Ha, ha! No, the 10 minutes would still have gone by, you would just have been doing something different! (You CANNOT save time. You can only spend it!)

Ah yes! But he was trying to match the average 37 minutes recorded for walking the loop. The guy judges a lot of his “success” on time. Weird, isn’t it? I’m never late, but I’m oblivious of time. Another opposite. 😂

I’ve been injured exactly as you did, however in warm, dry surroundings as I was photographing of the Bluebells.

We better be careful or we'll be sharing a room at the County Home. But those Bluebells are gorgeous down there. xoxo

This post made me giggle as I could just picture the two of you navigating your walk just like you do your every day life. I'm married to my opposite, too. It keeps things interesting. Stay on the sidewalk, Jan! I don't want you to break your collar bone!
