Usually I share lighthearted stories about aging on Thursdays, but today I hope you will join me in praying for those suffering from the ravages of Hurricane Helene and the chaos in the Middle East instead.
Sometimes as one small person in this huge dysfunctional world, I feel overwhelmed. But as I walked the cobblestone streets of Assisi several years ago and sat in the Basilica of St. Francis, I was encouraged by the creative genius that exists in this universe.
As I’ve aged, I’ve realized the only thing I can truly control is myself; and so I often recite St Francis’s Prayer for Peace. I know some people poo poo prayer, but I believe in it.
Today I invite you to pray the following with me:
Dear Lord ~ as always I ask you to make me an instrument of your peace. Show me ways in which I can help the people affected by Hurricane Helena and the turmoil in the Middle East. Please, comfort all of them, give them the strength and courage they need to withstand these disastrous times. Disarm the forces that try to divide us and unite our creative genius to make this world a better, safer place. Asking in Jesus’s name. Amen

For those who would like to donate financially for hurricane relief, the Weather Channel has a list of organizations that I linked here.
COMMENTS: Let us unite. Please, add a prayer in the Comment Section below for the victims of hurricanes and war.
May this heartfelt prayer of Jan’s and further pleas from many followers provide peace from conflict and relief from storm damage for all who are adversely affected. In the name of the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit, Amen 🙏🏽
By prayer and supplication let your request be known to God (Philippians 4:6) I join you in prayer for the country and world.
