I can so relate, I'm thankful I have grandchildren nearby to ask for help. Only problem is they are so busy, by the time they have time I forgot what I wanted them to show me.
Oh my goodness I’m cracking up! Jan, I love the way you write; it’s so conversational and just makes me giggle! Thanks for brightening my day! And by the way I can relate to several of these things…📱😂
Can I ever relate! My biggest difficulty is with the laptop apps and programs which constantly change. Just when i’ve mastered the new programs they go and change them again- the ones I use for graphic art especially. 😬😩
This was years ago, but when I submitted my Master's Thesis I got it back 5 times because I was still using the old rules. I even taught the stuff ~ and no one told me it changed. ha ha!
Well Jan this is the same message I sent to you somewhere?? I read this out to my husband and we both had tears running down our faces. Great writing. I’m sure if I asked my children about Nanna’s faux pas they could recall a few. 🙏🏻❤️
And I thought I was the only one who was tech-challenged. I don’t have children nor grandchildren to show me things. I press, pull, tug and throw away things I have a hard time with. It takes me longer than I want to to turn on things and get to where I want to go. Eventually I make it. I am surprised I can navigate GW’s new platform. In my head I think of all the filing I did in my heyday’s. One folder at a time. Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?
Yes, Elaine ~ we CAN do it. It may just take us awhile -- on some detours. hee hee! I'm not feeling that comfortable on GW's new platform yet, but I'm pretty sure with time It Will Be OK.
I like to think I'm kinda sorta tech savvy. Until my grandchildren show me something I've never seen before on my own laptop. I'm scared to buy a new car.
I know, Cathey ~ we don't even know what we don't know. My daughter keeps laughing at me because I do things the hard way -- until she shows me the easy way. Ha! My new SUV is great, but the talking to you IS kinda startling.
I think my biggest technological challenge was giving virtual classes first by zoom and then by google meet without having an idea of how to do it, I learned along the way. The next big challenge was doing hybrid classes. A my son told me one day when I felt overwhelmed by technology, everything in life can be learned and you will achieve it. Now I look back and see that I made it.
Both my daughters have some funny stories to tell from their virtual classes -- like the kids taking their iPads into the bathroom or kindergarteners following asleep. Ha!
I like to think I am pretty savvy with tech stuff but one day hubby's computer just would not turn on.. -he is not tech savvy- I tried everything so decided it had crashed. Went out and bought him a new one. Then grandson came around plugged his old one in and found that it had just gone into sleep mode and had it going in no time. Needless to say he scored a computer. Love reading your work Jan, always makes me smile
Oh Teresa ~ that kinda happened to me. I was going to do a presentation in front of a large audience. I went early & set up my laptop for the Power Point. When it was time to start, my screen was dark. Some kid in the audience saw the horror on my face, walked up -- and woke the darn thing up. Whew! Thank heavens for kids. Thanks for reading my blog!!! xoxo
OMG I-almost peed my pants laughing Jan. I do have trouble with technology. I can’t work my phone and I certainly can’t work our computer. Though thanks to Anne and Irene and Cathey they help my navigation my phone. Well that’s if my son or my husband won’t help because I continually ask them for help LOL. Though I’ve never called the repair man to open my dishwasher. Thank you so much for sharing Jan and making me laugh. I just love your stories.
I love reading your blog , I even read it this afternoon to one of my client after we finished PT and she loves it. She’s 92 years old independent just can’t drive anymore as she has Macular degeneration.
I have my 95 year old client when she gets combative her daughter play Graham’s guided meditation and she calms down and wants to listen his podcast. Lol
Anne ~ I love all the stories you do on Instagram. I'm having fun introducing my blog each week that way, but it takes me a lot of tries before getting it presentable. Ha!
Oh I wish! It’s a whole lot of trial and error for me. I learn, but it’s usually with a lot of error. I like to try. If I do and then succeed, I retain what I learned a lot more.
Loved it, I always have to get my great-grandson here to give me a helping hand when it comes to some of the electronics. God Bless the young ones. I did enjoy the laugh!
Thank you! I'm impressed with all you are doing ~ especially with GW's new platform. I'm still feeling uncomfortable navigating it, but I think I'll get it.

Now, that made ME laugh. xoxo
Your writing is so refreshing!! Embarrassingly( a word?) so, because it is so relatable!!
Thanks, Karen! Trying to use real-life stories -- with a bit of "embarrassingly" true humor to say "It'll Be OK" to grow old. xoxo
Sound very familiar!
Oh my goodness I’m cracking up! Jan, I love the way you write; it’s so conversational and just makes me giggle! Thanks for brightening my day! And by the way I can relate to several of these things…📱😂
Thanks, Tricia! I’m thrilled you like my style. Xoxo

I am trying to “get” it too!
Yes I understand that GW’s platform is so much different then what we had and is a little hard to get use to. Though will get it eventually LOL.
I like to think I'm kinda sorta tech savvy. Until my grandchildren show me something I've never seen before on my own laptop. I'm scared to buy a new car.

Ja, ja, ja I have many stories like that.

Hi, Shari ~ I bet all the repairmen in a 50 mile radius laugh when they see our phone number pop up. So embarrassing!
This made my evening made me laugh I can relate.
Great! Thanks for reading my blog, Lucy! xoxo

Oh, Lucy ~ that really makes me happy! Thanks so much! xoxo

Your clients are lucky to have you! When I get combative, I just watch some youtube videos of Ty & Amy kissing and I calm right down. hee hee!
You are funny I have not watch Heartland after I watch season 15 I put dvd away
This is a good one. I understand a little about being techno-challenged.
Anne ~ I love all the stories you do on Instagram. I'm having fun introducing my blog each week that way, but it takes me a lot of tries before getting it presentable. Ha!
I certainly understand that my friend! Still learning mostly by trial and error!
Anne have no trouble with technology. You always help me.
Oh I wish! It’s a whole lot of trial and error for me. I learn, but it’s usually with a lot of error. I like to try. If I do and then succeed, I retain what I learned a lot more.
Well, I for one, don’t like that our phones and laptops listen to us! Creepy! 👀
It creeps me out too!!! I think they even know what I'm thinking.
Loved it, I always have to get my great-grandson here to give me a helping hand when it comes to some of the electronics. God Bless the young ones. I did enjoy the laugh!
Thanks, Dorothy! Yep, I think my grandkids can't believe it some times. Thank heavens for them though.
My biggest challenge in tech Jan ia everything 😂😂😂😂
Love this
Halina ~ I know! I have no confidence in what I'm doing!!!
Exactly. Halina! I am so technologically challenged I managed to lose Graham’s new network. “It” tells me I am not a member now and I
need to sign up to join! This was after trying to respond to Graham’s post about fairness. Now I don’t know what to do!
I love this so much 😂😂
Thank you! I'm impressed with all you are doing ~ especially with GW's new platform. I'm still feeling uncomfortable navigating it, but I think I'll get it.
Thank you, you are doing a great job. We are here if you need any help 🙏💜
Jan, You do make me laugh 😂I can relate to everything you say x
Thanks, Lynn! I kinda made myself laugh on this one. What can you do??? ha ha!
