Jan. This reminds me of the beginnings of my heart issues which you have probably read about here on Substact. So glad you took that step to check in with your doctors. I had no heart issues and was exercising about 3 hours a day at my gym. But after my sinus surgery I went into AFib and was sent to the emergency room. A few days later I had an ablation. Subsequently the doctor discovered I had calcium around my pericardium. A year ago at the end of this month I had open heart surgery to remove it. The surgeon said that my heart had collapsed but when she began removing the calcium, it returned to its normal position. Today I’m almost at full recovery. It’s important to listen to the signs of your body. But more importantly establish a relationship with speciality doctors…cardiologist, etc. Hopefully you are doing well and back to riding your bike in Hilton Head and out riding your husband. Blessings 🙏

Hi Danny ~ you definitely have had quite an experience with your heart. I'm so glad you're almost at full recovery. The doctor only put one stent in me and said I'd have the same symptoms if the 40 percenter got worse. So far so good! My husband needed a heart abalation right after CoVid. He had it twice even though he had all the vaccines. The doc told him no more Covid vaccines for him. They were seeing too many cases of PVC -- extra heartbeats. Enjoyed outrunning my hubby on Sanibel in February. Sending blessings back to you. xoxo

Hope the procedure continues to work for and the “40 percenter” does not progress. While your husband had PVCs I have had PACs for several years which apparently caused my Afid. Hope you both continue on a healthy journey. As I told you before we love Sanibel and want to go back.

I went in to see my doctor about 10 days ago, for a medication that wasn’t even related to my heart. And he said I think it’s time I listen to your heart, he rolled back his chair and said I don’t like this sounds of this, and your heart rate is only in the 40s. So he did an echogram and also took some blood. I was on a medication for my tremors, as I have had essential tremors since I was 14. He wanted to admit me to the hospital so I could be monitored for a few days and I said no is there another alternative. So I checked into the emergency room for a couple hours and they monitored me and then I was given a heart sensor to wear and a monitor to carry. So that is what is going on with me, and I’ve always listened to my body. I was seeing my neurologist the next day and she took me off of all of the tremor medicine that I had been on for over 10 years. So my tremors are really bad now but I know they will get better as soon as my heart gets better. I am just thankful that the doctor took a good listen to my heart. Thank you for sharing Jan and Danny! Blessings to both of you!

Oh, Mary ~. I'm sure things are difficult & scary right now. Why did the neurologist take you off the tremor meds? After having Covid twice and taking all the vaccine shots, my husband had something called PVC's -- too few heart beats. So he had to have a heart abalation to regulate things. He's great now. The doc swears it was covid or the vaccine that caused it. I'm so glad you are listening to your body. As we keep getting older, they're definitely talking back, right? Ha! Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing, please. Adding you to my prayers. {{Hugs}}.

I meant to say PVC is too many heart beats. There were so many his blood pressure wouldn't register. The heart -- a complicated, amazing muscle. Take care!

As I told Graham in our chat about self-doubt sometimes I need some more self-doubt and fear beforehand. Ha! I didn't even realize the catherization was going to be a harrowing journey. But I sure did learn a lot from the experience. Hope all is well with you. xoxo

Thanks, Jan! Hopefully that is metaphorical and not an actual enlargement - haha!
